Calibration Services
There are two primary "calibrations" that need to be done to assure the resultant print will match what you see on your monitor. Your monitor needs to be calibrated and an accurate ICC Color Profile of the printer and paper being used needs to be generated. We offer:Monitor Calibration
The only accurate way to do this is with a Colorimeter or Spectrometer. We use X-Rite's spectrometers and software as we can use the same device to calibrate the monitor as well as generate an ICC Printer Profile.
We charge $150 for a two hour session, at your location in the SF Bay Area, to calibrate your Monitor and generate two ICC Printer Profiles. If required, additional time is billed at $75/hr. Alternatively, we can show you how to use your calibration device if you prefer.
Because there is drift even in LCD Monitors, they should be calibrated about once a month. We offer a monthly service fee of $50/mo, minimum 6 mo. contract, to recalibrate your monitor after the initial service call.
Custom Printer ICC Profiles
You need a custom ICC profile for your printer and each paper or canvas you will use. It takes about 30 minutes to generate a custom Printer/paper ICC Profile because of the drying time required before an accurate spectrometer reading can be made. Consequently about 3 per hour can be generated.
We charge a minimum of $150 at your location and can generate 6 custom profiles in the allocated time. Additional 3 per hour can be generated at a cost of $75/hr.
During the time we are at your location and while we are waiting for the "Ink to dry", we can preform other computer and printer related services. In the past we have loaded the latest printer drivers, upgraded the photo editing software, cleaned and aligned the print heads, etc. We are proficient on PCs and MACs.
